S11/C1And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house. S12/C2And David perceived that the LORD had established [and] confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake. |
S13/C14:3And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet more sons and daughters born to David. S14/C3:5/C14:4And these are the names of those of his children that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah [or] Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel: S15/C3:6/C14:5And Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Elpalet, C3:7/C14:6 and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, S16/C3:8/C14:7And Elishama, and Eliada [or] Beeliada, and Eliphalet, nine. C3:9These were all the sons of David, beside the sons of the concubines, and Tamar their sister. |
S17/C8But when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out, down to the hold, against them. S18/C9And the Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. S19/C10And David enquired of the LORD God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand. S20/C11And so they [and] David came up to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and then David said, The LORD God hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, by mine hand as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baalperazim. S21/C12And when they had left their gods [and] images, and David gave a commandment, and his men burned them with fire. S22/C13And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves abroad in the valley of Rephaim. S23/C14And therefore when David enquired again of the LORD God, and God said unto him, Thou shalt not go up after them; turn away from them, but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. S24/C15And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself [and] go out to battle: for then shall the LORD God go forth before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines. S25/C16And David therefore did so, as the LORD God had commanded him; and they smote the host of the Philistines from Geba [or] Gibeon even until thou come to Gazer. C17And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations. |
